How my upcoming book reflects my approach to food, nutrition and health


Happy Wednesday friend!

I have to say…the excitement is building ahead of the release of my debut cookbook which is now just under month away.

With that being said it begs the question…what is Plant Fuel?

You’d be forgiven for thinking that it was the name of a bag of fertiliser at a garden centre - but I felt it was the most appropriate name for how I see nutrition.

Food - while of course something to be enjoyed and has been for centuries - is still fuel.

It's the foundation upon which our bodies function or falter.

It's the information we provide our bodies to give it the daily jump start it needs.

And I really wanted my book to reflect this.

Plant Fuel is a reflection of my ethos and approach when it comes to food

My ethos is simple - and it's for ANYONE (vegan, vegetarian, omnivore - basically anyone who likes food):

  • More plants = more fibre, micronutrients and sustained energy - Plant Fuel packs a ton of recipes that aren't just high in protein but great amounts of fibre too
  • Enough protein in your meals - helping the process of building and maintaining lean muscle, keeping you satiated and helping you avoid unnecessary snacking
  • Simple, repeatable meals that you can come back to - simplicity is the key. I've always been a big believer in this; the meals you make daily shouldn't be complex
  • No labels, no dogma - yes, I adopt a 100% plant-based diet. But I've always been against pushing labels, and instead helping you adopt frameworks that you can implement into your life in a way that suits you
  • Food you can actually enjoy - while food is fuel, it has to be flavourful, vibrant and actually taste good. I've made sure the the recipes in the book prioritise this

At its core, Plant Fuel is about giving you a way of eating that actually moves the needle: more energy, stronger training, smoother digestion and meals you'll actually want to make on a daily basis.

No trends, no extremes, no vegan dogma - just principles that have worked for me, and food that genuinely supports your health day-to-day.
